When I met this sweet girl this past winter I knew then that she was special. But it was not until I began working with her mother who is the stylist for my studio, that I really saw her. Here is Courtney not quite 5’9″ blonde with an infectious laughter. That is right not a giggle but a laughter that fills the heavens and she goes all out there is no had on her mouth with a teee-heeee but a all in funny face and all laughter. She is committed. This is what I learned about her that she has been raised by amazing parents who have exhibited the love for family, life and hard work. This is important in life as we tell all of our children.
But the one thing that melted my heart as I spend more time with her and momma (Bethany) is the love that I see in her eyes when her mom talks to her. As she sat in the chair getting her hair and makeup done the way Courtney smiled at Bethany when she wiped the excess gray off her eye lids. The patience as she was becoming more excited because this was about her love for two things. One the lace dress she found at Macy’s and two the love for a past passion of hers riding horses. Or so I thought until we were talking and Courtney was doing this for Momma’s heart. When you ask Courtney do you want to do this? She said sure with a big smile. Momma on the side lines and primping all the details just the way I wanted them. The way they tell each other they love each other with a look, a hug and the touch of their hands. You know how mother and daughters do. That made me cry as I looked back in my camera.
This is the beginning of her high school career in August and for Bethany it was the celebration of her ending her middle school years. The transition is one that we as mother’s know is a nostalgic one. We remember our youthful journey, wish more for them and Celebrate their life. I am beyond the moon to photograph their Mommy and Me. Bethany and Courtney thank you for trusting me with your hearts.
